Google Images can and will update without warning. As far as replacing the manual deletion of images, you need to be careful. But you can make it a lot more efficient. You can often use selective search or tiling plus a simple color filter to identify interesting candidate images. Selective search and tiling are also often but not always great ways to produce many more images, and more images rarely hurt.
